it’s been a little over a year since my last post. no surprise giving, it’s not like i’m so intune with this blog. so let’s see what i can remember…
not much really happened through the first quarter of the year. i did manage a golf trip in april to barefoot and it was hard on my body. i think we played 36 holes for 4 days straight. i’m not at the supple age to do that again. what made it worse was taking the b&b trip to firestone the week after! i did captain my team to a championship, but didn’t sweep my matches so i wasn’t able to bring home the coveted jacket.
speaking of golf, attending mg at piedmont in 2025 wasn’t a lot of fun. i kept getting blamed for not being competitive enough to get to a shootout. i told him not to worry about asking me in 2026, but he did, so we’re going to give it a try again. i guess expectations will be different, at least in my head, since i don’t plan to stay with him this year. i’m planning to get a hotel for that weekend with shannon.
myrtle trip this year wasn’t good for the americans. the brits took us down in singles, but that’s not why i’m not going again. i’m just tired of the bullshit from a friend. i was kicked as captain after agreeing to be captain unless i chose to drop. it was a mutual agreement with the brits and us. maybe the decision came about because i left early on the last day so i missed awards. i don’t know and i’m not going to speculate at this point. i don’t care and, yes, it did hurt my feelings.
july was sick though. we went to italy and cruised for a couple weeks. you talk about a great time! the trip should deservc its own post, but i’m not going to bother with that. just know it was the best trip of my life with the person i love the most in my life.
when we got back to the states it took a month before we decided to pull the trigger on the local country club (lexington). i couldn’t be happier i’m back at a club, meet new people and whack a golf ball around. the timing was great too because the government shutdown for a month so i got plenty of golf in and took lessons!
we spent most of december in a couple of casinos and lost a total of $6,000. it def could’ve gone better, but honestly, i’m just getting back into the grind. i felt my tournament play improved with each session, as well as, my cash play. we’re going to spend a week in may to try my hand at the wsop circuit event so we’ll see how that goes.
that’s pretty much everything in a nutshell! oh, lastly, my son moved in… we’ll see if i write about that experience so far.
